 You've
heard about the dramatic, soaring, awesome, snow-covered
Alps all your life. Now is your chance to see them and
experience one of the great alpine adventures…skiing
the high Alps of Switzerland! Here are some of the highlights
of your trip - superb and vast high alpine ski terrain,
the highest rail-served point in Europe (the Jungfraujoch)
and the Piz Gloria, a mountaintop restaurant where the
James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"
was filmed. Additional sightseeing to Bern, Lucerne, and
other nearby cities is easily done by train. Grindelwald
village is served by the rail and nestles under the craggy
trio of the Wetterhorn, Bettenberg and Eiger. It has easy
access to the glaciers and a network of cable -cars leading
to trails throughout the region and beyond.
LODGING:
The 3-star Hotel Steinbock is only a 3 minute walk from
the center of Grindelwald Village, next to the First
Gondola ski area. It is a family run, traditional style
chalet (completely rebuilt in 1992.) It has a popular
restaurant serving Italian and Swiss specialties, a
breakfast room and a Grappa bar. The rooms are large,
and there are also single rooms for one person. The
4 star Belvedere Boutique Hotel is located about 200
meters from the center of Grindelwald. It has large
rooms with coffee service and minibar. The hotel has
an indoor swimming pool, sauna, fitness room and spa.
It has a non-smoking restaurant and bar, and ski guides
for the area.
MOUNTAIN FACTS :
Base: 3,392 ft.; Vertical:. 6,888 ft.; Longest run is
9 miles. Trails: 93 miles of downhill in or near the
Village--31% beginner, 50% intermediate, and 20% advanced.
The various ski areas connect or can be reached by short
walks, quick bus or train. Number of Lifts: 30-local,
44 in Jungfrau region--3 cable cars, 3 cogwheel trains,
2 gondolas, 16 chairs and numerous surface lifts. Lift
capacity: 4200 p/h in Jungfrau Region. |

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
PAYMENTS: Deposits are accepted by cash, check, Visa,
MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. Remaining payments
are due by cash or check only. Deposit: $750 per person
payable at time of booking. Balance due: Dec 7. If payments
are not received on time, reservations may be cancelled
or resold. If held for you, late payment fee is $50 per
person and applies to both second payment and balance
due.
CANCELLATION FEES: $750 to Dec. 1, then nonrefundable
Cancellations must be received in writing at Coleman
Travel. Trip cancellation/travel insurance is available
and strongly recommended.
DEVIATIONS & CHANGES: cause additional cost to
Coleman Travel and a fee of $25 to $50 per person, depending
on the circumstances, will be charged for deviations
and/or changes made after confirmation, plus any difference
in tour cost.
